A great exhibition that covers the thirty-year career of one of the most important protagonists of contemporary art. The Neapolitan artist puts at the centre of his research the reconciliation between the ancient Roman-Greek heritage and the contemporary perception of the world. His reflection on the shape and the matter of things and the arbitrariness of ordinary perception. His art is full of references to ancient philosophy, symbolism and mythology and it expresses through arcane images and deformed auto portraits. His technical and stylistic experimentation is varied and it goes from oil to water colours, from frescoes to mosaics. The exhibiton exploits up to what point the Italian history, and in particular that of Naples, has constantly nourished Francesco Clemente's art.
